Modern man had sex with Neanderthals. Descendants of interspecies communication among people living

The ancestors of modern humans probably had sex with Neanderthals, despite the species barrier. This tells The Telegraph, citing the statements of Professor of Genetics Svante Paabo.

Professor Paabo, who heads a genetic laboratory in the Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, Max Planck, made a statement at a conference in the laboratory "Cold Springs" in New York. According to the professor, it is not clear whether the contacts led to the emergence of children or sexual relations between individuals of different species ended in nothing.

"The main problem is genetics, then, is to establish the following facts - Have you seen any children born from these relationships, and if so, how they affected our current population," - he said.

"I am confident that between the two species were having sex, but whether they affect us today?" We will be able to answer this question only after conducting a new, more detailed study of genes of the Neanderthal man "- he added.
