The best known and most sadistic thought experiment in quantum mechanics - Schrödinger's cat, decided to put into practice

Experiment with the cat was invented by one of the founders of quantum mechanics, Erwin Schrödinger to demonstrate the so-called principle of superposition. According to this principle, an electron or any quantum entity is at once all discrete states in which it currently can be found, and only the procedure of measuring the state forces him to make a choice. This is based the entire quantum mechanics.
In a normal world, a world of common sense, we say: "I do not know the condition of the object as long as I state this not to measure, but in some it still is." In the world of quantum mechanics, we have to say: "Until the moment of measurement, I know that the object is immediately in all conceivable conditions.
