Dutch scientists managed to grow artificial meat

Group of Dutch scientists from the universities of Eindhoven and Maastricht successfully conducted experiments in growing pig in vitro.

According to the researchers, the technology is still imperfect, but quite soon it will be possible to get ready steaks without the use of this pork and beef.

As part of the experience scientists extracted from the muscle of live pig myoblasts, which can turn into muscle tissue to repair damaged areas. Myoblasts were placed in a nutrient, created on the basis of the animal’s blood.

Researchers managed to get in the end the soft muscle mass. While it bears little resemblance to the usual meat, but the scientists intend to continue to improve it.

The idea of growing artificial meat also like the defenders of animal rights and vegetarian. According to forecasts, with the sausage meat buyers will see in five years.
