Large Hadron Collider at possibly discovered the Higgs boson

Physicists analyzing data collected by two detectors of the LHC, said the registration of “suspicious” events, possibly pointing to the birth of the Higgs boson. Scientists reported their findings at the European Conference on High Energy Physics (Europhysics Conference on High Energy Physics). In short the essence of the report leads portal Nature News.

Higgs boson - is an elementary particle whose existence was predicted by the Standard Model - the most common today hypothesis, which explains the nature of the fundamental physical interactions. The Higgs boson “responsible” for the presence of masses of all other particles.

Until now, scientists have not been able to experimentally confirm the existence of this particle. Theory predicts that the Higgs boson can be produced in the collisions of other elementary particles that occur at very high energies. In this case the colliding particles break down, forming the so-called quark-gluon plasma, which can be produced from other particles which, in turn, are divided, giving the new particles.
